How intensive courses work

Pass in weeks, not months, built around your life.

An intensive driving course packs your hours into a short block instead of dragging them out over months. Same skills, same test, just faster, with an instructor who knows the roads and test routes in your area.

Local instructors

DVSA-approved ADIs who know the roads, roundabouts and test routes in your area, not generic lessons that ignore where you'll actually be examined.

Set your own pace

Fully intensive (every day) or semi-intensive (a few days per week), choose what works around work, college or shifts. You're in control of the schedule.

Home pickup included

Collected from your home, workplace or college, wherever it's feasible, so your lesson time goes on driving, not travelling to a car park.

Manual or automatic

Your choice on every course and every tier. Tell us your preferred transmission when you enquire, we match you to an instructor who teaches in it.

Theory support included

Get your theory test knowledge genuinely solid alongside your practical driving. The theory test is booked separately with the DVSA, we make sure you're ready.

Early test-date help

You book your own DVSA practical test, we help you find and secure an early slot, watching for cancellations near your test centre, within DVSA rules.

Intensive course options

Four routes to your licence, one for every level.

The same expert teaching, local instructors, and early test-date help on every course. The only difference is how many hours you need, and choosing right is the biggest decision you'll make. Prices vary by area; enter your postcode for a tailored quote.

Common questions

Everything you need to know before you book.

How much do intensive driving courses cost?

GetMyPass courses start from £100 for the Provisional (10–15 hrs), from £200 for the Improver (20–30 hrs), from £350 for the Advanced (35–45 hrs), and from £500 for the Elite (50 hrs) complete-beginner programme. Prices vary by area, enter your postcode for a tailored quote.

How quickly can I pass with an intensive course?

It depends how much experience you already have. A near-test-ready learner on our Provisional course can often be ready in one to two weeks. A complete beginner on the Elite programme typically needs four to eight weeks. An intensive course condenses your hours into a block rather than spreading them over months of weekly lessons.

Is the driving test included?

The DVSA practical test fee is not included, you book and pay for it yourself directly with the DVSA. Since 12 May 2026, course providers can no longer book a learner's practical test on their behalf. What we do is help you find an early date, watch for cancellations near your test centre, and make sure you walk in properly prepared. Theory training support is included; the theory test is also booked separately with the DVSA.

Which course is right for me?

The right course depends on your experience. Near test-ready → Provisional (10–15 hrs). Some lessons but not consistent yet → Improver (20–30 hrs), our most popular. Limited experience → Advanced (35–45 hrs). Never driven → Elite (50 hrs). Our compare page walks through each option in detail.

Do you cover my area?

GetMyPass covers 100+ towns and cities across England, Scotland and Wales, excluding Northern Ireland. Enter your postcode and we'll confirm availability near you. If we can't cover your area yet, we'll tell you honestly.

Do you offer automatic intensive courses?

Yes, manual and automatic are both available on every course and every tier. Tell us your preferred transmission when you enquire and we'll match you with a local instructor who teaches in it.

Can you guarantee I'll pass?

No, and be wary of anyone who claims they can. The DVSA examiner decides on the day. What we promise is honest, structured preparation and an instructor who'll only put you forward when you're genuinely ready. Choosing enough hours for your experience is the biggest thing you can do to maximise your chances.
