How a 2 week intensive driving course works
A 2 week intensive driving course spreads 35-45+ hours of tuition across two consecutive weeks, usually 4-5 hours a day with weekends off to let lessons sink in. It lines up with our Advanced tier and gives complete beginners or nervous drivers real breathing room – enough days to build genuine confidence without the fatigue of trying to cram everything into one non-stop week.

Spacing lessons across two weeks rather than one gives your brain time to consolidate new skills overnight, which most learners at this stage find genuinely easier than back-to-back daily lessons.
Booking your test under the 2026 DVSA rules
Practical tests are booked directly with the DVSA at gov.uk – booking is self-book only, and since 12 May 2026 third-party scanning or slot-finding apps are banned. That booking step is always yours to complete, never GetMyPass’s. Once booked you can change your date up to 2 times, giving at least 10 working days’ notice, and the DVSA fee is £62 on weekdays or £75 for an evening, weekend or bank holiday slot. Is 2 weeks enough for someone who has never driven before?

The DVSA’s own average is around 45 hours of professional tuition, and a 2 week course sits right at the top end of that guidance, so it’s a genuinely realistic route from zero for most people. Do the two weeks have to be consecutive?
They don’t have to be – GetMyPass can run the two weeks back-to-back or with a gap, whichever suits you. Some learners prefer a short break between weeks to practise privately, let the first week’s skills settle, and then return for the second block; others want the momentum of consecutive weeks and the fastest possible route to test-ready. Both approaches cover the same hours with the same instructor, so nothing is lost either way.
