How a 5 day intensive driving course works

A 5 day intensive driving course is our Improver tier run strictly Monday to Friday, roughly 5-6 hours a day, so your weekends stay free. It suits learners who can take a working week off but would rather keep evenings and weekends clear for family, study or a part-time job. Like our one-week option it delivers around 20-30 hours of tuition, but the fixed Mon-Fri structure makes it easier to plan around if your test centre or work schedule follows a standard week.

MondayBaseline assessment and control work – your instructor identifies exactly which habits and hazards need attention before building further.
Tue-WedJunctions, roundabouts and independent driving on progressively busier roads, with manoeuvres introduced once basic control is solid.
ThursdayA full mock test on routes similar to your local centre, with detailed feedback on every fault.
FridayA second mock test targeting whatever came up Thursday, plus a final confidence-building session before you book your real test.

Who this suits

Best suited to learners with some prior lessons or private practice who want a clean, predictable Monday-to-Friday structure rather than a course that spills into the weekend. If your weekdays aren’t free, our weekend intensive course covers the same ground across consecutive Saturdays and Sundays instead.

Booking your test under the 2026 DVSA rules

Practical tests are booked directly with the DVSA at gov.uk – booking is self-book only, and since 12 May 2026 third-party scanning or slot-finding apps are banned. That booking step is always yours to complete, never GetMyPass’s. Once booked you can change your date up to 2 times, giving at least 10 working days’ notice, and the DVSA fee is £62 on weekdays or £75 for an evening, weekend or bank holiday slot. What GetMyPass does is get you genuinely test-ready to a realistic timeline and help you understand how to spot early availability within the DVSA’s own system – we never book or arrange your test, and the DVSA examiner alone decides who passes.

FAQs

Why choose 5 days over a full week?

The difference is purely scheduling, and GetMyPass offers both formats. A 5 day course and a one week course deliver a similar 20-30 hours of tuition; the 5 day version sticks to Monday-Friday so your weekend stays free, while a one week course can run any 5-7 consecutive days, including weekends, if that suits you better. The tuition itself is the same either way: one instructor throughout, focused daily blocks, the same syllabus and the same standards. Pick whichever fits your diary – there’s no right answer beyond what your week actually looks like. If you’re unsure, tell GetMyPass your availability when you enquire and we’ll build the day plan around it rather than around a template.

What happens if I’m not ready by Friday?

GetMyPass would rather tell you honestly than send you to a test underprepared. If your instructor feels you need more time, you can add extra hours in blocks at the standard rate, with no penalty – the plan flexes rather than the standard dropping. Being upfront about where you’re starting from when you book helps us set realistic expectations from day one, which is exactly why we ask about your experience before you pay. The goal is a confident, well-prepared test, not a rushed one, so the top-up route exists for the times an honest assessment says a little more practice is the right call. With GetMyPass, ready means ready – not merely Friday.

Can you guarantee I’ll pass?

No – and GetMyPass would encourage you to be wary of anyone who claims they can. The DVSA examiner alone decides on the day, whatever course format you choose. What we promise is honest, structured preparation: five focused days with the same instructor, a plan matched to your actual starting experience, and a professional who’ll only put you forward when you’re genuinely ready rather than because it’s Friday. Choosing the right course length for your experience is the biggest single factor within your control, and it’s the thing we help you get right before any money changes hands. That preparation, not a promise, is what GetMyPass stands behind on every course.
