If a test isn’t passed, the learner books their next available slot directly with the DVSA, since providers have not been able to book tests on a learner’s behalf since 12 May 2026. Test dates can be changed up to twice with at least 10 working days’ notice, and the DVSA charges £62 for a weekday test or £75 for an evening or weekend slot. Reviewing which areas caused difficulty and arranging further lessons with the instructor before rebooking is the usual next step.
